Our own government has been studying them for decades, and its entire social policy -- at one level -- has been based on thinking of us as insurgents or potential insurgents. So in order to fully understand how the repressive apparatuses of the US state function, we have to understand that state’s organizing principles. In doing so, says Stan Goff, we become more effective in changing our world and navigating the inevitable repression that results.
