IMMEDIATE OPENING - IT Manager/Webmaster
From the Wilderness Publications, Inc. of Ashland, OR has an immediate opening for an IT/Manager/Webmaster at its corporate headquarters. From The Wilderness is an eight-year-old growing and influential internet-based and hardcopy monthly newsletter read in more than 40 countries, by 64 members of the US congress, government officials and professors and staff at universities around the world. We are a liberal, "leftie", and very in-your-face opponent of US government corruption and the corruption of both political parties. Republicans need not apply. Democrats will receive remedial training.

Job duties include daily uploads of news stories and analysis to our website, website design under the guidance of the company President, maintenance of our online store, all in-office computers, telecommunications and data processing software, and daily interaction with an office staff of five. Special emphasis is placed on firewall and other security protection. If you want this job you must do well with deadlines and rapidly changing priorities.
Minimum requirements: Experience with html, xhtml, css, javascript, photoshop, dreamweaver MX and flash. Experience working in an open source environment, including the use of Apache, Linux, etc. Also, some networking experience is needed, using MS-based hardware. Basic knowledge of server-side CGI programming and MySql would also be helpful. The following qualifications are a plus: Experience with internet/email marketing, Search Engine Optimization experience, Working knowledge of web based affiliate programs, Some Macromedia Flash experience.
The person selected for this position must be willing to undergo a background investigation and to sign appropriate non-disclosure agreements. DO NOT apply for this position unless you currently reside in or near the Ashland, Medford, Grants Pass area and are able to commute to our offices immediately.
Starting salary: $900 per week. Paid holidays. Vacation after one year. - Based upon performance after one year this employee will be eligible for profit-sharing and stock options which will be determined.
